| Anigozanthos
(Kangaroo Paw)
Anigozanthos originate from southern West Australia, where they
grow in sandy soils. The climate there is Mediterranean cool wet
winters and hot dry summers with low relative humidity. Most of
them do not cope with wet summers, high humidity and poor drainage.
But there are exceptions to this and a couple of the varieties cope
well with different weather conditions.
Wild birds are attracted to these plants when in bloom during spring
and summer. The different sizes of plants, long lasting colours
as well as the height of the flower spikes, make them popular with
gardeners and also the cut flower market. We produce only a small
selection of these plants marketed under the “Bush Cobbers™”.
There are very attractive labels readily available for these plants
from Macbird floraprint, just click on the label link to view the
labels.
