| Anigozanthos
“Big Red”
“Big Red” is one of the Anigozanthos that will grow
in the Brisbane areas, even though it is quite humid here in the
summer. Most of the Anigozanthos do not cope well with wet summers.
- Rich velvety red blooms during spring and summer.
- Long slender elegant flower stems between 1.2m to 2m tall
with a mass of colour.
- Long strap like evergreen foliage that is clump forming and
attractive even when not flowering.
- Prefers part shade to full sun in well drained soil.
- It is drought tolerant, but protect from frost.
- Perfect colourful specimen for feature areas of the garden.
- Produces excellent long-lasting cut flowers which can be
used fresh or even dried.
- Perfect for large feature tubs
- Ideal for water efficient gardens
- Attracts native birds to the garden.
